Chris Hull
Research Engineer
Hello! I’m a research engineer based in the United Kingdom. I currently work at Monumo, where I research and implement novel machine learning and generative AI methods to optimize and design electric motors.
I just recently finished my PhD in the Energy and Power Group (EPG) at the University of Oxford under Prof. Malcolm McCulloch (fantastic supervisor!). I wrote my thesis on the electrification of public transportation systems in Sub-Saharan Africa. You can see some of my work in the publications section. Before that, I did a bachelor’s in Economics and a master’s in Management Science & Engineering at Stanford University.
I love technology and am passionate about clean, low-cost, and abundant energy for all. I’m excited by the possibility of new technologies to drive emerging value chains.
Outside of work, I’m an active member of the Explorer’s Club, and have provided research mentorship services for high school and undergraduate students since 2017.
Check out my blog, where I am starting to learn in public.
